DIG SITE The Dig Site The focal point of the resort, the Dig Site's 46 foot tall Mayan pyramid themed as a
modern archaeological dig of an ancient lost kingdom. A beautiful waterfall flows down the ceremonial stone steps
and into the pool.
Nighttime lighting resembles that which you would imagine at a dig site. The Dig Site
hours vary depending on the season you visit but typical summer hours are 8:00am to midnight. If you are able to
get to the Dig Site early, kids are asked to participate in the opening ceremony. Towels are available poolside
at the Dig Site. Lifevests are available poolside. If you have kids, they do a pool opening ceremony everyday at
10:00am. They call all the kids over to sit on the steps of the pyramid and they chant to the water gods to turn
on the water.
Siesta's The water slide is 123 ft long, 16 foot high Jaguar waterslide emanating from the back
of the pyramid. A jaguar spits tries to get you wet as you shoot under him. There is a "walkway type bridge", which gives
you a chance to watch or take photos of the kids (or adults) sliding on the water slide, from above. Yes, life
jackets are available at poolside and the slide dumps into a shallow part of the pool. No running on the pool deck or
double riders on the slide allowed. Also included at the Dig Site is a kid's pool area that 5 shooting rays of water into the air.
The quiet pools are located in each of the villages: casitas, ranchos, and cabanas.
No towels are available at the quiet pools, just use your room towels. The CSR quiet pools are the first on Disney
property to use Bromine instead of Chlorine! All the pools at WDW are geared with children in mind, so there are
always steps into pools. The quiet pools are heated to 80º and have wheelchair access.
